Questions from our Flawlessly Feral Community
Is it possible? YES!
Is it probable? It really depends.
Every child is different. Some might nap peacefully in the blind, some might play quietly, and others—like mine—might sing "E-I-E-I-O" at the top of their lungs while bouncing up and down on the blind chair.
The thing is, you know your child best. You know what they respond well to, when they've had enough of an activity, and when they need a little extra stimulation or engagement. Hunting with little ones often requires flexibility, patience, and a bit of trial and error to figure out what works best for your child. What works wonderfully for one toddler might be a complete disaster for another, and that's okay!
My biggest piece of advice is to focus on fostering a love and appreciation for the outdoors rather than filling a tag. At this age, the goal isn't necessarily to have a successful hunt in the traditional sense. It's to create positive experiences, build their curiosity, and help them develop an excitement for being outdoors.
That foundation can pay off tremendously as they grow older and become more capable of longer, quieter, and hopefully more productive sits!
Remember, a successful hunt with a toddler doesn't have to end with a deer. Sometimes, it simply ends with a happy little hunter who can't wait to go back. If you're interested in reading how our first deer hunt went, click the link below for our blog.
Good luck out there, and happy hunting!
